I'm super excited for Women's Mental Health Awareness Month this March! As women, we face unique challenges and stressors in our lives, and I would like to share some positive stats and tips that can help you maintain a good mental health state of mind this year.
According to a survey by Ipsos, women are more likely to say stress has affected them than men. However, they are also more likely to seek mental health treatment than men. This shows that women are proactive and resilient in coping with stress and seeking help when needed. Another encouraging statistic is that the percentage of U.S. adults receiving mental health treatment rose from 19.2% in 2019 to 21.6% in 2021. This means that more people are accessing the care and support they need, especially after the collective trauma of the Covid-19 pandemic.

So, how can you take care of your mental health this year? Here are some tips that we recommend:
- Practice gratitude. Gratitude can boost your mood, reduce stress, and improve your relationships. Try writing down three things you are grateful for every day, or expressing your appreciation to someone who has helped you.
- Set healthy boundaries. Boundaries are the limits you set for yourself and others in terms of what you are comfortable with and that you expect. Boundaries can help you protect your energy, time, and space from being drained or violated by others. Learn to say no when you need to and communicate your needs clearly and respectfully.
- Seek professional help if needed. There is no shame in asking for help when you are struggling with your mental health. Therapy can provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and learn coping skills and strategies.
You can find a therapist online or in person through various platforms and resources.
